I played a pool match here last night and though I wasn't hungry, it was a Yelp foodie opportunity so since we're here, where's the menu... I parked in front... lots of parking... the entrance is out back. Just an observation, no criticism. It's Monday and very quiet. The two pool tables are in a separate room from the bar but after the ID check, the bartender came by to ask if I wanted anything. Got my regular pineapple juice with club soda and asked for a menu. This place has steak! Meat and taters! I got the cod sandwich, comes with fries and I also god the jalapeño poppers.$11.95 but YOLO and Yelp needs to know if the poppers are good. I needed to know... hot, crunchy, cheesy and very good. The sandwich was very good too. Nice slice of tomato, fresh lettuce, nice deep fried cod with tater sauce. The bread is sourced from a local bakery, so very fresh bread. Wasn't sure if the bartender was the owner but he was very personable and friendly and helpful. The jukebox had an eclectic selection of music from a variety of genres. I want to come back to try the steak next time when I'm hungry. Lunch is going to be great today.
What drew me to this place was the poker tournaments that they host each Wednesday. They usually have at least 3 tables and some stiff competition. What blew me away is that there are usually only 2 waitresses running the place and they are really hopping. Food comes out quick and your drink is never empty before they check in on you to see how your doing. Best service in a bar I have ever had specially when I was not a regular. The place is pretty big so even if it is busy you never feel cramped. The only critique I have is that the menu may need a bit of an update. The food is all really good, standard bar fare, but if they elevated the food just a little I could consider making this my new haunt.
First look and I was not sure what I was walking into. The outside is beautiful but a little misleading to say the least. I walked in and it seemed to be this quaint western style bar. Liquor selection is great and extent, prices are great, and they have a daily drink special. Food menu is fabulous as well as priced for any wallet, whether you want to spend $5 or $25 they have it all and it's absolutely delicious. I haven't hit everything on the menu just yet, but I'm half way and I intend to try it all!! highly recommended this spot! So when o you find yourself on this side of town be sure to stop in and ask for Felicia... she is not only beautiful, she is a fabulous bartender!! Feel free to try for yourself and prove me wrong.

Looking for the coldest beer in town? This is your place! Easy access from the freeway, ample parking, good food with lots of options, lunch special with 1/2 sandwich for those of us that appreciate smaller portions. Amazing staff, fast service.
WOW, I am surprised this is the first review for the Lone Star Saloon (no not that steakhouse chain). This is indeed a bar but they have very good Mexican food. Their combo plate is massive, I get the one with enchiladas and the Verde burrito (there must be at least a pound of cheese on this plate for the lovers out there). I believe they make their enchilada sauce from scratch, very flavorful. So you know, I use Chili Verde as one of the tools to rate Mexican restaurants and the Lone Star has good yet unique Verde. Their Verde is creamy, has large chunks of pork and isn't too spicy. They have great lunch specials, usually sandwich, soup, salad deals and as that implies they have more than just Mexican food. I have eaten their other food and it is tasty but I typically stick with the Mexican because it is so good. Final note, for those who like an adult beverage with your meal they have a full bar and very reasonable drink prices.
